Chile Women’s Intro to Backcountry Ski Touring/ Splitboarding

Intro to the Backcountry

Has it been your dream for a while now to get into the backcountry? Have you been wanting to explore beyond the resort boundaries but just didn’t know where to start? Does the thought of it all feel intimidating? Trust me I know all those feelings all to well, which is why it’s been a long time dream of mine to create a program that allows women to bridge the gap from resort riding to the magic of the backcountry. I wanted to create a supportive, encouraging, female community to help break down these barriers to entry and get as many women into the backcountry safely as possible. I am so excited for this adventure as we will be guided by Chilean female guides who know these mountains and land better than anyone. They have carefully curated this program to ensure you walk away with the skills needed for a lifetime of success and enjoyment in the backcountry. This trip offers the perfect blend of learning, cultural encounters, delicious local cuisine paired with relaxation and recovery. You’ll get to experience one of the most beautiful mountain landscapes of Chile, gain new life long touring friends and leave with the skills and knowledge needed to continue touring just in time for the Northern Hemisphere winter. The highlight of our trip might just be getting to tour on a Volcano on our final day.

Who This Program is for

This program is designed for women with intermediate to advanced skiing or snowboarding abilities who are looking to take their first steps into the world of backcountry travel. Whether you're curious about ski touring or splitboarding, you'll learn the essential skills, techniques, and safety practices needed to confidently explore the mountains beyond the resort.

Combining local bilingual professional instruction, supportive coaching, comfortable accommodations, and unforgettable days in the Andes, this experience provides the perfect introduction to backcountry skiing and splitboarding in a welcoming all-women environment.

The program also embraces the importance of rest and recovery. Between days in the mountains, participants can enjoy scenic waterfall excursions, thermal baths, and a relaxing massage designed to help the body recover and recharge for the adventures ahead. The result is a balanced experience that combines learning, exploration, wellness, and meaningful connections in one of the most beautiful mountain regions of Chile.

Ski Touring / Splitboarding and avalanche safety gear is not included but is available to rent locally at very reasonable rates so you can test it out and understand how it all works before investing in your own setup.

This adventure begins and ends in Temuco , Chile which can be accessed via a short domestic flight from Santiago, Chile.

Meet your group leader

Hi! My name’s Alli, the founder of Femme Mountain Collective. An initiative to create more female communities in the mountains and organize dream ski/ snowboard trips for women around the world. Recently a female guide from Chile approached me with an intro to the backcountry program she’s put together for women and it felt fated from the universe. It’s been a long time dream of mine to go skiing in Chile and I’ve been wanting to explore adding a Femme Mountain trip to South America to offer magical trips for women year round. I was especially excited to see her program was targeted more for women who are wanting to make the transition from the resort into the backcountry as this is something I am super passionated about. It is my dream to help women experience the magic of the backcountry and I know firsthand just how intimidating it can be starting out. So I was thrilled to see she has curated this program beautifully to be the best introduction to get started on a life of backcountry adventures and to do so in an empowering, supportive all female environment. From your host to your guides, this is a 100% female trip.
